A Deal With The Devil by Elizabeth O'Roark

A Review by Wendy
 3.5 Letting The Past Go Stars
* * * 1/2

 Spoiler Free-A Quick Review

Oh, how opposite our characters are...
He is a successful plastic surgeon who is talented and top of his field. He could be a billboard model and has the rep and women to prove it. He had a past relationship experience that he never wishes to repeat again. So no real connecting, it is safer that way, sure...but it is also very lonely.

She is a budding author. She landed a publishing deal she had wanted for so long. Unfortunately, the words are not coming and she thinks she is needing to return her advance for a book she can not complete.
She loves her family even though they sometimes expect too much from her, she never turns them away. Now she really needs to find a way to earn "serious money" so she can pay back her advance.

The answer to one of her problems comes from her best pal. He needs someone capable to cover for him at work when he goes on vacation. Our gal is going to pass until he shares how much she will get paid.

DING-DING...Answer to her money woes.

The boss is a tool. He is exactly like his rep, having many hook-ups of All Types and Numbers! He will be a handful, but she has her eye on the salary prize. She decides she can hang in there, it will only be six weeks.

What happens between these two is banter, humor, her insight into him, his ability to actually see her and help when unexpected. They both overcome their past and in the end realize they are the ones for each other.

There is an epilogue and all... the only thing missing is his voice, POV. Overall entertaining.

Elizabeth O’Roark lives in Washington, DC with her 3 children. After many years spent writing scintillating brochures about amniocentesis and heart surgery, she is thrilled to have found a job that allows her to just make s*** up.
