Oh,
What The Hell, I LOVE THIS SERIES, PERIOD. I love Erin Nicholas and her
creative mind. She has this way of presenting situations, creating
compelling people, making you WANT to be friends with them and CARE
about them, even when you are not reading about them.
Think
about that for a minute. What person in Real Life doesn't wish that for
themselves, to have those you know want to be your friends and care
about you...Then think about what an accomplishment it is when authors
are able to do just that with their characters in their books. It is not
as easy as some authors make it look, either.
So my love for Erin Nicholas and this current series is serious.
We were given five guys who connected in college, each bringing something to the relationships they forged.
Two of them created a video game and the other three worked with them
to market it, protect it, and make it all happen. They became brothers
from other mothers and they loved each other unconditionally.
In
this last entry, Gimme S'more brings into focus this support, caring,
and love these guys have for each other. It is the foundation of who
they are. We have been waiting for Ollie to wake up and understand he
loves Piper and she loves him. It takes Piper making the decision to
quit working for the guys and explaining when Ollie asks why that she
loves him.
Ollie has been this character that has been the
"Man/Child" of the group. He never remembers meetings, he is the
creative force of the video game they sold for major bucks, and Piper is
the glue that holds him together. He knows he will be lost without her
and when she says she has to leave because of how she feels for him, his
answer is to figure out a way for her to stop loving him.
What
happens next is this journey Piper, and Ollie goes on. It is everything.
It is revealing not only for Ollie but for Piper, too. It is this look
at who people are and how they became the way they are, what needs they
thought they would fulfill. How we can think we are doing things for
another that is helping when it could be holding them back.
There
is so much cover in this story and it was all handled so well. It was
insightful, understandable, and made you think about how much we can
impact another.
Oh, and the sexy times...Please, this is an Erin
Nicholas book...Smokin', Delicious, and could I have S'mores,
please...hahahahaha see how I did that!
So my love affair with Erin continues and you are so lucky to have all these books ready, just for you.
A gifted copy was provided by the author/publisher for an honest review.
Erin Nicholas is the New York Times bestselling author of over thirty sexy contemporary romances. Her stories have been described as toe-curling, enchanting, steamy and fun. She loves to write about reluctant heroes, imperfect heroines and happily ever afters. She lives in the Midwest with her husband who only wants to read the sex scenes in her books, her kids who will never read the sex scenes in her books, and family and friends who say they’re shocked by the sex scenes in her books (yeah, right!).
