The Risk (Briar U #2) by Elle Kennedy

I believe in Full Transparency. Elle Kennedy owns me. Seriously, I really can't remember back to when I haven't been a huge fan. I liked her stuff when she was writing on the Brazen label years ago... but when she wrote The Deal (Off-Campus #1) in 2015, I. Lost. My. Mind. https://www.goodreads.com/review/show...

Ms. Kennedy has continued to tease me, tempt me, taunt me and enthrall me with every single book she has written since.
She has continued this excellent series, she has written other series and books in partnership with authors. No matter what form she takes, they have all shown and highlighted her insights into the human condition and her ability to teach serious life lessons for all of us. Especially for those at that apex of young adulthood...the time in college and just after.

I have lived long past that period but when I read Ms. Kennedy I am able to be there in the moment and feel all of the urgency and confusion. I also feel all of the new sexual awakening, first love, lust, and want which can overwhelm, fog and intoxicate.

So with The Risk, Ms. Kennedy has brought all of her observations, knowledge of sport, the inadequacies with women and how they are treated to this tale. She also has two characters who are supposedly the ultimate enemies and have them fall and fall hard.

There was a bit of a hiccup towards the end, yet overall with all of the delicious moments and strong issues addressed, I truly feel Kennedy accomplished what she wanted.

Please take a look at all of the wonderful reviews already out for this book... you will be delighted.

A gifted copy was provided by author/publisher for an honest review.

A New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author, Elle Kennedy grew up in the suburbs of Toronto, Ontario, and holds a B.A. in English from York University. From an early age, she knew she wanted to be a writer, and actively began pursuing that dream when she was a teenager.
Elle currently writes for various publishers. She loves strong heroines and sexy alpha heroes, and just enough heat and danger to keep things interesting!
