Gorgeous Monster (Marchetti Mafia #1) by Charity Ferrell

There are some troupes or genres that can be like a guilty pleasure for me. If I see Mafia, I will click, and if I see that Charity Farrell is doing her take on this, then I am all in. Ms. Ferrell is a relatively new author for me (yes, I know, what was wrong with me), and she really hit the whole dark, gritty type of tale. This is not for those who don't deal with graphic violence.

Gorgeous Monster has just that as the man...he is the Mafia King, and was ruthless and unforgiving. His daughter made friends as a child with a girl who has grown into a beautiful woman. She has made the huge error of falling for another mafia type and now is in danger from that family.

Her only recourse is to go to our Gorgeous Monster begging for his protection.

Oh, My...What a fire she jumps into...and we get to be there watching how these two characters spar, how they are forbiddingly attracted to each other, and how so many rules are broken.

Ms. Ferrell takes all of this and makes it work, causing us to want the next book about Benny, Gorgeous Prince.

Charity Ferrell is a Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestselling author. She resides in Indianapolis, Indiana with her boyfriend and two fur babies. Her passion is writing about broken people finding love while adding a dash of humor and heartbreak. Angst is her happy place.
