This tale had all the sweet, sexy fun Erin McCarthy is known for. Five First Dates is a book related to Weekend Wife. There is the same circle of friends and familiar faces. You do not have to read the other book in order to enjoy this to its fullest. This stands on its own perfectly.
This hits all the romcom notes with its tongue planted firmly in its cheek because of how the main character has a fatal flaw of falling hard for the wrong guys. She has a six-month-old baby boy from a relationship she thought was the one. The ex is a huge disappointment and now the woman just doesn't think she knows how to pick men if her life depended on it.
Hence the title of the book. Her girlfriends are going to set her up with dates.
Now the geek who grew up and is a tattooed muscled god is staying with her because he is filming a reality show. He is there to help her with her son when she is working in exchange for the couch. The only problem with all of that is She sees him as the Man he is now and doesn't know what to do with all these feelings...
This was fun, sexy and sweet. Looking forward to more Erin McCarthy.
