My Thoughts - Story
I did have a bit of a problem in the beginning with the story and it holding my interest. I actually put it down for a bit and read another one. It wasn’t that it was boring…it was just I couldn’t grasp what was happening (and there was so much going on) – I felt lost at first. This is a book that dives right into the action without any type of explanation.
Now we do end up coming around to explaining how things work, what the world is like, who the characters are, etc. ---- this is the point where I get my…”Ohhhhh….OK” and now I can actually start getting into the story.
It was a great concept and I just LOVED some of the beasties Leena had in her collection…Damn…I wish I had her ability!
Another thing that kind of turned me off was how nonchalant Noc was about what would happen with his curse and Leena…yeah, in the beginning he tries real hard…but then we come to the fact that he has no willpower and brushes it off.
Overall, it was a good story and I enjoyed the characters, story, and world!
