A Review by Diane

More Than Crave You

Three and a half, gotta have you, Stars!!!

***1/2

I have really gotten into the More Than Words series by Shayla Black and now we have her fourth book entitled More Than Crave You.

I have been looking forward to Evan Cook and Nia Wright’s story since book three. This book had the “tug at your heartstrings” element with Evan having lost his wife and child in a car accident prior to the beginning of this book. And I’d like to think that tragedy caused Evan to shut down because he was almost robotic in this actions and thinking in the beginning. Not a lot of emotion to this man. To temper that, Ms. Black also created some funny elements of Evan’s “bachelor” lifestyle now that he was on his own.

Nia Wright was Evan’s office assistant. Smart, pulled together, and sexy, she did not put up with a lot of crap from Evan even with him having suffered a tragic loss. She was also down to earth, organized and quick witted which began to draw Evan out of his funk and back into life again. But I also have to agree with some other reviews that this story just didn’t have quite the pull for me that the other books had, particularly in the first half, and honestly……I did want to put this book down halfway through, but I also have to say I was glad I did not. The second half of the book really picked up with Evan pursuing Nia and wanting to marry her, and Nia looking at him like he was crazy. After all, as his assistant she kept his life organized, and from Evan’s perspective in the beginning it was more “so why not have her organize his personal life as well.”

The book is a quick read with lots of sexy, steamy banter both between the sheets and out. Nia is a strong character and Evan is logical (maybe too much?) but unorganized. Makes for some very funny moments.

If you are a fan of the More Than Words series, this is a book to read. Although not my top favorite in the series, it’s still a “not to miss book”.

Shayla Black is the New York Times and USA Today bestselling author of more than sixty novels. For twenty years, she’s written contemporary, erotic, paranormal, and historical romances via traditional, independent, foreign, and audio publishers. Her books have sold millions of copies and been published in a dozen languages.

Raised an only child, Shayla occupied herself with lots of daydreaming, much to the chagrin of her teachers. In college, she found her love for reading and realized that she could have a career publishing the stories spinning in her imagination. Though she graduated with a degree in Marketing/Advertising and embarked on a stint in corporate America to pay the bills, her heart has always been with her characters. She’s thrilled that she’s been living her dream as a full-time author for the past eight years.

Shayla currently lives in North Texas with her wonderfully supportive husband, her daughter, and two spoiled tabbies. In her “free” time, she enjoys reality TV, reading, and listening to an eclectic blend of music.
