4 Sometimes the Happy Ending is In Front of You Stars

This tale had so much going for it. Yes, Friends to Lovers with all of the concerns about "what if" and how the friendship could go south. But what I really appreciated was all the undercurrent of why two people who made a pact when they were 15 to marry at 30 if they hadn't found another. That was the gem of this story... because it reflected on how parents' actions can color everything for a child going forward.

Erin met Reese years before 15. They bonded right away and they were ying to the other's yang. Both loved each others company and as they entered their teenage years, Reese newly discovered Erin... saw her and had to deal with raging hormones and body parts. Reese kinda fell hard for Erin but kept things as friends because he didn't want to scare her away.

Over the years Reese has been Erin's bestie and each has held each other up during all the down times, during all the break ups... through everything. Now they both are turning 30 and The Pact is playing in both of their minds.

For Reese, he wants to see how serious this could be...He has dreamt of Erin for years and she has been the woman he has thought of as The One... never the women he had dated. Erin is over love... she saw her mother fall apart when her father divorced her. She had thought their marriage had been perfect... and when perfect falls apart, then hell... No love for her -it is all bogus.

We get to go on the journey of these two figuring out how truly perfect they are for each other...everyone in their friends and families knew it all along and they just need to catch up. It was delicious to see Reese and Erin finally get with the program. Lots of swoony times.
