 Kelly Elliot was a new to me author. She is not new to the New York Times or USA Today Best Seller List or her fans. She has a down home -no holds barred way of writing and I can see how she developed her following.

In this new series, she has created a family of rough and tumble men who grew up on a ranch in Texas. There are 5 brothers and two sisters. The home life is warm, caring and the ranch is successful. Groundwork has been laid throughout this book to give us little hints of what will be happening over the next books.... there is no doubt each sibling will have a tale to tell. 

With this first book, we have a very emotional story... Lost Love... the Title and the entire story. Take two high school sweethearts... pledging their love over their young years. They both know this is the real deal.... no little puppy love... this is tried and true.

With Mother Nature stepping in and providing her natural challenge to the couple, being young and unprepared...our fella doesn't react the way one would hope at first.... leading to heart break, confusion, and then remorse and guilt for him. 

For her she was shocked, overwhelmed, devastated and then justifiably angry.  

Words were said that could never be taken back...

These two went down paths ... made decisions and oaths to themselves which colored how the next 10 years of their lives went...
