Game of Love
The Remington’s Book One
By: Melissa Foster
Blurb
Ellie Parker is a master at building walls around her heart. In the twenty-five years she’s been alive, Dex Remington has been the only person who has always believed in her and been there for her. But four years earlier, she came to Dex seeking comfort and then disappeared like a thief in the night, leaving him a broken man.
Dex Remington is one of the top PC game developers in the United States. He’s handsome, smart, and numb. So damn numb that he’s not sure he’ll ever find a reason to feel again.
A chance encounter sparks intense desires in Ellie and Dex. Desires that make her want to run—and make him want to feel. A combination of lust and fear leads these young lovers down a dangerous path. Is it possible to cross a burned bridge, or are they destined to be apart forever?

I have to start this on a good note and say that this was a heartwarming
story…..but with good – comes the negative – the only negative I have to report
is how annoying and irritating Ellie was in the story. I get the trust issues she was dealing with –
she was flopped from foster home to foster home and her solution to problems is
to close up and run away.
With getting the back stories of Ellie and Dex and how they started out
as friends when they were children, the story started out slow but was building
up to the story of Ellie and Dex reuniting again.
You see Dex never really got over Ellie who was his first love – when he
told her his true feelings; Ellie broke his heart by running away. This time though Dex isn’t going to let Ellie
get away with her fright and flight syndrome.
I appreciated Dex’s character and found him to be very solid – while on
the other hand….I could have done without Ellie and her constant bickering, and
never leaving the past where it belongs…in the past.
Overall, it was a good read!
