An advanced reader copy was graciously provided by the author in exchange for an honest review.

Four very irresistible stars!
****

You know those stories that have the main characters meeting and having an instant connection within the first pages of a book?   The characters can’t explain it, but the draw to one another is undeniable?  As a reader you are excited for them.  Their chemistry jumps off the pages into your hands and the book shakes a little as you hold it?  Well such is the case for Lila Monroe’s Very Irresistible Playboy (VIP), the first book in her Billionaire Bachelor Series.

From the get go, we have our hot and handsome billionaire bachelor involved in the family business.   An intelligent, fiercely independent and beautiful girl enters the picture.  The chemistry between these two when they meet and suddenly kiss is explosive.  A fake engagement is suddenly added to the mix and then a wealthy family with more eccentricities than there are stars in the sky creates the background for our story.

We meet our main girl Hallie Gage in Perfect Match (also by Lila Monroe) where she is Jack Callahan’s no nonsense assistant.  Jack is a difficult and demanding billionaire who invests in start up businesses.  But let’s not get sidetracked with Jack. He is his own story in that book.  However, at the end of Perfect Match, Hallie wants to follow her dream of being a photographer so she quits her job with Jack, and this is where our story of Max and Hallie begins in Very Irresistible Playboy.   Got it?

Max Carlisle is viewed as a wanderlust playboy by his family.  They want him to settle down and join the Board of Carlisle Publishing, especially his grandfather.  But our billionaire bachelor, Max, likes his independence and being out in the field writing stories for Carlisle Publishing instead of sitting at a desk.  Well, to get his family off his back about all those things, Max contracts with The Agency to hire a girlfriend for the family’s command appearance at their grandfathers birthday party. So who ends up being his girlfriend/fake fiancée?  None other than our girl Hallie who was recruited by the owner of The Agency after she learned Hallie had been Jack Callahan’s assistant.  If anyone can handle Jack Callahan, what’s a billionaire bachelor playboy?   A piece of cake, right?  Hallie takes the job, well because she’s in desperate need to make extra money to buy a camera for her fledgling photography career and possibly a job as a photographer at Carlisle Publishing? A girl can dream, right?

Max and Callie have instant attraction when they first meet.  The kind I mentioned above. Their conversations are witty, clever and fun!   Ms. Monroe has not squandered her talent.  She has created laughter between our main characters, hot attraction, sizzling steamy sex, a family treasure hunt of sorts that is down right hilarious, all while leading Max and Hallie down the path of a fake relationship that turns real for both of them at the end.

Clever, intriguing and smartly written I read this book in a day and found it just as irresistible as the title itself.

Combining her love of writing, sex and well-fitted suits, Lila Monroe wrote The Billionaire Bargain. Lila enjoys writing, as it gives her a flexible schedule to spend time with her kids and a wonderful excuse to avoid them. She lives in Los Angeles with her husband, who strips out of his well-fitted suits nightly.
