Derek McLaughlin was on the road to having it all, but in one night, everything changes.
Spiralling down a destructive path seems to help numb the pain, but he knows that he can't continue the way he is. Once he's 'manned up' and straps on his armour, he returns home to deal with the grief he ran away from.
Hayden Hunter, is a sweet loving veterinarian, who by chance, meets Derek on the side of the road.
Their friendship starts out nice and easy until Derek realizes that she may be the one to help him move on, but there's someone out there that doesn't want to see them happy, so.....duh, duh, daaaaaaaa.
I enjoyed this book and the soul healing journey Derek went on in the beginning of the book. Hayden was a perfect heroine in my eyes and the relationship these two formed held me captive!
