"I left you something on the nightstand," she said.
"You did? What is it?"
"Just turn over and look," she pleaded.
He turned over to look, hesitantly, not wanting to look away from her. She always seemed to disappear every time he looked away. Warning: I almost drowned in my tears!!! Forget the tissues, get yourself the extra large bounty super soakers paper towels!!!
First, I just want to thank, or maybe actually scold Ms. Jillian for pretty much killing me with Larkin & Ryan's story; I don't know why I read books like this but I guess I'm a masochist for the emotional gut job I just had.
Long time childhood best friends, Larkin and Ryan have always been there for each other; the loyality they have for one another is simply pure and true.
But life isn't always smooth sails and evenly paved roads.
Ryan sacrifices all that he can to support Larkin once she is diagnosed with leukemia, and I truly felt that it was his time to man up; I say this because the things that Larkin has done for Ryan in the past just really stood out to me; she is the epitome of a selfless being and I think anyone would give just about anything to have a friend like her.
Here's a little excerpt of a letter she's written to Ryan:
Love is too small of a word to describe how I feel for you. I love you so much, I can't breathe. You caught my heart as it fell for you, and you protected it, you nurtured it, and you honored it. The love I feel for you is majestic and angelic. It is timeless and breathless. It is miraculous and unqualified. It is unexpected, and it is unwavering. It leaves me wanting nothing. My love for you completes my soul, and it completes my life. Our love story covers a lifetime. Most people would read it and wonder why I needed a lifetime to fall for you. But what those people don't realize is, I didn't need a lifetime to fall in love with you, I needed a lifetime to show you just how much.
I won't go into any further details cause I'm getting a little teary-eyed thinking about their story, but I really like the concept of how this story was written. The author takes us on a journey into the past via letters that Larkin has left for Ryan (think P.S. I Love You).
I strongly suggest that you stock up on the tissues before reading this story cause there really isn't anything sugarcoated here; the emotions I felt while reading this, honestly made me want to stop.
I tend to stay away from books that touch a little too close to home but there was something about the teaser that just got me right in the middle of my heart. so.........

This story is the sequel to Larkin's Letters.
It's been almost a year since Larkin's death and Ryan just can't seem to move on. He sees and feels her everywhere and the only way he feels close to her is to write her letters.
My heart broke for Ryan; I cannot imagine losing the love of your life, but the reality of it, death is a guarantee. The hardest part of it all is how does one move on in life without that person who was your entire world.
