Nick is the grown son of the ultra-rich Hamilton family, the people who employ Bea’s father. Bea grew up nursing a major crush on the handsome boy next door, but never saying two words to him. When Bea unexpectedly finds herself at the Hamilton family’s annual masquerade ball, however, she discovers that Nick is very interested in getting to know her as a grown up, brilliant knockout.

Despite their vast and varied differences—not to mention the implicit disapproval of their friends and family—Bea and Nick won’t be kept away from each other. For the first time, Bea feels sexy, respected, and taken care of...in every way imaginable and then some. Their passionate fling heats up at the summer wears on. But will the sudden appearance of an ex-flame leave Bea feeling burned?

A Review by Wendy

This is a mixture of old school story telling with new romance spice.
If you remember the original movie, Sabrina, then you will have the set up for this story. It is the classic tale of what really matters;  we all want the same thing no matter where we are on the status food chain... we all want to love and be loved.

We have the resort town... on the Cape with all of the affluent, powerful families. One of the most influential is the employer of our gal's father. Bea grew up over the garage... went to school and was the nerdy, slightly plump teenager. She graduates college and sets off to Rome to intern at a graphics design studio. As she develops her craft, she falls for a sexy Italian man and experiences that first love.... only to have it crash and burn 2 years later due to his cheating. She has returned home to lick her wounds, regroup and pursue her career in Boston after the summer's end.

As life would happen, upon her return, Bea is presented with the opportunity to go to the affluent family's Charity Masquerade Ball. This ball has been everything she had dreamed of over the years... beautiful people dancing, drinking and eating... dressed in amazing gowns... and all done footsteps out of reach...But this time, she will attend not watch from her window.

The other main character is the handsome, charming son, Nick... the vision she has watched over the years... He has grown to be a very successful real estate mogul... with no help from daddy. He has been a secret crush for Bea... but he has never paid much attention. Things are about to change; because just like a fairytale... our girl has blossomed into a beautiful, confident woman... no more hindered with the outer layer of protection...this woman is graceful, slim yet chiseled and a sight to behold.

The ball takes place with masks and all... Bea is able to be free and enjoy the surrounding without worrying about the upper crust family and whether she fits in... She is dressed in a borrowed gown, none the wiser and it is her time to shine...

Oh, and she does... Nick spots her... pursues her... and they end up  lip-locked and more...He has no idea as to who she is... and she is basking in the sensual joy of it all.... this is the start... how will this go once they know who each are for real... can they cross over into each others lives... or is it hopeless before it even starts....

The biggest question this story asked was whether people can rise above their  prejudices.... because they happen on both sides of the economic fence...

This read was fast and seemed to mix the fairytale with the current sexual trends...Because they had a back story of knowing each other intimately from afar over the years... their quick escalation physically was understandable, to a degree. There were secondary characters adding drama. Overall, a trip to the Cape and some romance, too.
