Wicked Billionaire (Wicked Horse Vegas #8) by Sawyer Bennett

Sawyer Bennett has created a series that is obviously sexy yet always delivers heart. In this entry, we have two people who would seem very different in life. Money and career are just a couple of things, to begin with, however, as we learn of these people we learn of the real differences they have.

Bailey Robbins is in recovery mode.
She was married to a man who hid who he really was. Once Bailey discovered his secret, divorce and all the splitting of assets took place. Unfortunately, that meant she had to pay half of all HIS DEBTS. Yup, he ran up the credit card debt through the roof buying stuff for his secret love.

Baily also has the responsibility of taking care of her parents. Both too young to be disabled. They are only in their late forties/fifties but due to the type of work they did to provide for Bailey, the mother needs an oxygen tank to breathe and her dad damaged his back. The most important thing about this responsibility is that Bailey has no negative feelings about her caring for them. In fact, she feels a type of honor in being able to be there for them as they were for her.

So this means, Bailey currently is juggling 3 jobs and the latest one she just took on is being a housekeeper for the Blackwood Resorts. It is The Luxury Hotel in Vegas and she was lucky to get the schedule needed to work with all the other gigs she is doing. When she graduated with her business degree, this was not how she saw things happening.

Declan Blackwood is the Heir Apparent to being the head of the Blackwood Empire. He has worked his entire life towards this. He came from the Blackwood dynasty and as the son, it was expected for him to devote himself to the company. Declan has. Every moment, his passion has been developing and bring to life each new location of Blackwood all over the world.

Because that was the only positive focus he saw through his parent's eyes. Yes, they were uber-rich and he wanted financially for nothing but as to parental love, hugs, caring moments from either his mother or father, those moments never happened.

Declan did have one person who loved him and showed it. Lennie was his nanny over many years. She had been a part of the Blackwood family for years and Declan to this day felt closer to her than anyone. He made sure she was in his life, moving her all around the world, keeping her close.

So Declan Blackwood wasn't heartless...But it was an emotion locked away. Instead, he did his work perfectly and expected others to do theirs just as well...if not, they were fired. He worked hard, played harder, and found the Wicked Horse in Vegas the perfect outlet for all the stress his life had. There he could be free to enjoy, give pleasure, receive it without any strings. It worked for him and he found like-minded people there.

These two opposites meet under circumstances, not the norm. Declan, rich, bossy, and out of touch with the working person is in his suite. He has just told a bad hook up to leave and she wasn't too happy about it. In his head, he is thinking this is why I should have gone to the Wicked Horse.

As the woman is leaving the suite, Bailey comes in with her cart to do the regular service for the rooms. She knows who Declan is and has done the suite before. She says once again, Good Morning and he says nothing. What a jerk. He can't even say hello. Whatever, Bailey doesn't care, she has other things on her mind.

As she works to clean up the kitchen Declan is remembering her to the extreme. He knows exactly who she is, she caught his eye when she was hired. The thoughts he is thinking would give his Human Resources department shivers.

Declan's phone rings and the next moment and conversation will change both of these people's lives forever.

This story had the usual experience at Wicked Horse, sexy times for the adventurous but also had a deeper focus on what is truly important in people's lives. Now due to Declan's extreme wealth and the way he was raised, he did not have the same issues and learning experiences someone like Bailey had. He was raised to think you could throw money at anything and that would get you whatever you wanted. When Bailey shows him her family devotion and how she wants to assist them even though it is hard for her, it starts to open his eyes to more.

Bailey was someone who doubted her personal trust in judgment with men due to her marriage/divorce. It made her question things. It did not, however, make her doubt her business ability. In that, she felt solid and that was a huge plus in the story. She would say no to Declan and that was something positive in the story.

This entry fell in line with all of the others in the series, maybe not as intense or with any big plot moments but overall an enjoyable addition.
