Starting a brand new series is always tricky. You have to line up all of the elements, introduce all the characters, produce some charm and warmth and then give this first entry a full story for the readers to latch on to...A big task.

Monica Tillery presented us in Sweet Texas Kiss all that and a bag of chips. She gave us a terrific location and three brothers who are a tight-knit group. They have been there on the ranch and land helping and doing what is right. Unfortunately, the father passes and literally, all hell breaks loose...

You see the father had promised each of his sons' pieces of the land and holding to them. Each son was expecting what was discussed. Yet when the will is read, each piece is given not to the sons but to three women with no connections to the family...or do they...

The first son to tackle this situation is Gavin. He was promised the homestead and now it has been given to a woman who annoyed him in school and then was instrumental in his best friend leaving their hometown. Everything then came crashing down when an accident took this friend's life. He has no love lost for this woman who has now stolen his home.

Macy inheriting this house brought back all the sweet memories she had as a child. Macy left to pursue a country singer career. Her best friend Tori left with her and they were a team. Then something awful happened and Tori died. This caused Macy to lose herself and crashed down hard.

Going back to Sweet Ridge seems to be the answer for Macy. The surprise is she has to hold onto the house for a year, no selling. This gift has some thorns, though. The son Gavin is upset he hasn't inherited and he holds Macy's responsible for Tori's fate.

This tale has lots to enjoy and from the start, I felt that the father had a master plan for all of his sons. This series will explore those ideas.
