I have been reading this Amazing Series, Boys of the Bayou from the start. Erin Nicholas took an idea, created the world around it, put a charming family in the center of it and let it loose. She gave us fully formed men who were dedicated to preserving their business of doing tours of the Bayou. These men and their feisty, smart sister Kennedy ran the tours and kept each other in check. They were part of a bigger family circle that completed this loving group. They were unique, loud, raw and shrewd, able to give advice, need advice or loved stirring the pot.

We have been given each of the brothers and their finding women who are meant to bring out the best. This time we are given Kennedy, the sister who refused to be put in the corner.

Kennedy was a woman who could not be classified.
As a little girl, she was raised in the beauty pageant world. Her mom loved taking her to the events and Kennedy who was stunning from the start won all the time. As she grew up, she started to rebel. By twelve /thirteen, she decided No, Nope...wasn't going to do this anymore. Enter the Goth clothing, dark eye makeup, and tougher feel to her. Kennedy raised with all the boys gave her strong confidence and the ability to hold her own. The foundation of the Landry family surrounded her with love allowing her to develop in the cutting, sarcastic, sweet-when-wanting-to-be woman.

Bennett came into the Bayou Boys circle when he bought into the business. He was a man who loved the Bayou, had a link to the area from his mother and also wanted to save the land from developers and the change in the climate. As a part-owner, he had an excuse to talk with Kennedy and tease her. It was the highlight of his week. He wasn't alone in this teasing. Kennedy loved pulling his chain as she would make up reasons to deliver reports late...ones Bennett could pull up on his computer if he really wanted. It was a game between them because the sparks were definitely there.

Kennedy was a little confused, though...Bennett wasn't her type of guy at all...Him in his beautiful suits, all shiny shoes, big money, and all...Kennedy looked for men who knew how to use their hands, fix tires, air conditioners, and the docks. Why did she tingle when she saw him...Why did she think maybe having a fling would be a good idea...

Well, when the man himself shows up at the tour office and whispers in her ear causing her toes to curl and the dirty thoughts he shares of what he would like to do with her...Then a yes comes out of her mouth when Bennett tells Kennedy she should come with him to Savannah for his father's birthday party. Now Kennedy knows this is a situation where all the things she hated from the pageant days will be there on steroids, big money and society people...But to spend the weekend with Bennett away from the brothers with prying eyes and wagging tongues, the pull is too strong.

Now here is where I want to Rave about how this story continued. Erin Nicholas Did Not go down the common path and write an easy story of conflicts and ta-da it has its HEA. It would have been so expected to layout conflicts we all can see and then have the epiphany and then done.

But Oh, No No...

This was perfect...so Bayou Perfect with all the twists and turns we know the Bayou thinking can bring. I Loved the way this tale took on so much; politics, community and the belief in one's self. The discoveries both, Kennedy and Bennett, have about themselves and what they want from life were refreshing.

As I said, this series had everything a reader could want. Strong men with big hearts. Women who gave these men a run to capture those hearts. Lots of humor, colorful secondary characters and the love of the Bayou. Thank you, Erin, for this ride.
