Review by Wendy ♥ Fast Burn (Body Armor #4) by Lori Foster

A Review by Wendy

4 Who's Bossy Now Stars

Spoiler Free

What I love about Lori Foster's writing is the idea of Strong Women. She will create a woman who knows how to deal... Deal with business, adversity, danger and handle all of it in stilettos. In fact,
Sahara Silver's fashionable heels almost became another character of their own... and in Real Life would have an Instagram and Twitter account, I bet...

But I digress...My meaning is that in almost all of the reading I have done with Foster, the women hold their own with the remarkable men Foster gives us...Because, let's face it... Over the years, Foster has given us hours, upon hours of men we have enjoyed reading about.

Brand Berry is no different and in this final entry to the Body Armor series, he makes us fall hard for him.
I hadn't read all of the books, so I can seriously say, this was an easy read without the past experience of the series. The other characters and their women do make appearances, but I didn't feel left out wondering what was happening at all.

We are thrown into our story with the push pull of both Sahara and Brand verbally jousting about why he is in Sahara's office at Body Armor. Brand is a well known and successful MMA fighter. Many of Brand's personal friends from the sport have joined the security team and Sahara wants Brand, too. They have crossed paths and there has always been a current running...a spark that could flash at any moment and it is that spark and desire which has always caused Brand to say no to Sahara's offers....

Well, that isn't exactly true...
There is one other thing causing him to say no....

Sahara is Bossy...
No...She is really Bossy, Like Boss Woman...
Like Large and In Charge Bossy...
That is all well and good in Brand's eyes...as the Boss...
But he is Not A Man To Be Bossed...

He knows he couldn't work For her...He knows he wants her too much and that would cause all sorts of work place problems...because he also knows she is wanting him, too if that office kiss means anything. So nope, he will think on doing that last MMA fight to handle the expenses he has to take care of the woman who birthed him...Not the people who actually raised him and made him the man he is today.

Sahara knows deep down, her desire for Brand is more than having him join Body Armor. She has a pull towards him and it won't let go...She also has another feeling equally as strong... and that is the undying belief her brother Scott is not dead but alive and hiding somewhere. Body Armor was his baby and she was part of it as his sister... but when it seemed like he had been killed at sea, she took over in order to save it until he returned. She streamlined it, modernized and made it even more successful by changing the image of the company. With Ex-MMA fighters as personal bodyguards, she brought the sexy to security.

Sahara is thinking about all of these things as she approaches her home. She sees the split-timing of  SUVs blocking her driveway and the road in back of her. She has her phone out and is instructing the team through Brand's phone line what to do as she knows she is about to be kidnapped.

The line goes dead and Brand is having trouble breathing for a moment...

This woman who he has only kissed and bantered over working for her has now become the most important thing... He will not allow whoever has taken her to survive...

The team, his personal friends, are skeptical at first but then agree, Sahara knew what she was doing by calling him and not them. It seems this kidnapper had all of them under surveillance and wouldn't know Brand...

This is only the start of a suspenseful, sexy and yes, heartfelt read. Foster takes us on the path of good guys vs bad with Brand and the Body Armor crew fighting and outsmarting their opponents. There is also extra intrigue by players hidden in plain sight.

This has all of the trademark chemistry Foster is known for...Sahara and Brand are yummy together... Two bossy people... both figuring out when to give in. Both equals in the bedroom and boardroom and we get the pleasure of both.

We also get the delight in the heart of it all, too. Brand's love of his family and then his conflicts with his birth-mother are fully shown. Sahara has her own issues with her missing brother, Scott. All of these things are explored causing us to see how human these people are.

This may be the end of the Body Armor series...but I think Foster has some other ideas to keep all of these characters alive. Down the line, I see another series coming with one of the characters being the focus, doing things which will help others...Ms. Foster, I will be looking to see what you have brewing on that score...
