It
is not often, but always wished for, when a final book of a duet or
series works so well. Right from the start, this final entry had me back
in the mindset I needed to be in... I was there remembering all of the
dark, sexy looks Donovan would give his Sabrina...How Sabrina would have
shutters and chills just by a hint of Donovan's movement close to her
body. These two were this undeniable force... and like those chemicals that shouldn't stop being refrigerated...they would combust and let the chaos of it all reign supreme.
This is a duet which has all the angst, darkness, manipulation and then realizations needed to take you on an emotional roller-coaster ride. You will sometimes not know your head from your ass in the ways things are revealed...
But know this...This couple is destined to be together come what may. Their bond has been forged through a journey that has marked them from college days and nothing, no nothing, that happens will eventually break them.
That is not to say many discoveries will jar Sabrina... Make her question what is the true relationship she is having with Donovan...
Is she really having a relationship with this man...
Or is it only the sex....
Because the sex is nothing like what she has ever had or thought of with anyone else...This type of raw control, the taking, this nasty, dirty pushing and pull... this all consuming desire that washes over her when she is near him....Is this the only reason she is drawn to him...and he to her...
Or is there more...
This question is one of the main themes of this book...which then segues into another question of whether you can accept a person as how he is...truly accept the oddities, the kink, the obsession... Can you understand you cannot take one part of a person like on a menu... and say
I will have the sexy dirty part of you from Column A but will substitute the obsessive watching or controlling decisions part of Column B...
Loving someone doesn't work that way...
And neither does loving someone from afar... and not allowing yourself to try ... to challenge yourself to be in the moment with the object of that love...
This deliciously well crafted duet addressed all of that. It also set us up for more...
Yes, More Dirty Filthy Rich Men...as there are partners who have eyes for little sisters... and another partner of the firm who has some woman under his skin and this itch must be scratched.
Laurelin Paige has a very naughty dirty filthy imagination... and yum yum aren't we lucky.
