When one reads a series, it is important to have the right mindset. It is like a conditioning for a marathon. There will be the excitement of the start.... the next section of getting your groove and then the play of timing... a little faster here.. slower in other parts, leading up to finishing the race.

This series has many elements and keeping them clear and concise is what makes Aleatha Romig's talent necessary. She has created this world with many, many, moving parts; players who may or may not be who they represent, a love interest whose life and family tree is roots deep in secretive endeavors and political chaos, and then there is our main gal...one who has not had a lovely beginning; who has fought her way out of the "Prada Bag" of what was to be and taken her life into her own capable hands.

We have had 2 entries in this series; each with the purpose to draw us in; woo us to want to know more and in this 3rd entry, Romig does the class story-telling of revealing, sharing and keeping entire funds of information separate from those who should know.

Serial story telling has a specific flow... and Deceptions is engaging, answers many of the questions from the last book with everything pointing in other directions now.

All of the bad guys are there...all of the loved ones are clinging to each other when needed... and in the meat and potatoes of this particular book, we are given more perspectives, allowing us to see things which happened, will happen if we pay attention and understand what we are left with was plotted all along in order to move us closer to the conclusion of this epic tale.

All of it flows; all teases and makes us think beyond the written word... and if we are quick enough, we might sense what has happened in order to get to our cliffy. Not to worry.... we are in great hands...and if you have the right mindset...you will be patient for your next installment to come.
