I love MC books, they are my guilty pleasure. However, a lot of MC books either try too hard and go too gritty or are so soft they are laughable. Riding Dirty is a perfect medium. This book has a real story and while it involves the MC it doesn’t revolve around the MC. It has more of a mystery/suspense vibe to it.

Mia and her husband were the victims of a home invasion. Her husband was murdered and while she survived the perpetrators believe they killed her, too. Years later she has been relocated by WITSEC and is working as a forensic psychologist.

Shank has just been released from Chino under the condition he work as an informant for the FBI. Part of his conditions is he meets with a forensic psychologist, Mia.

Mia has her own plans for Shank. She wants to seduce Shank, so that he will help her get revenge on her husband’s murderers, a rival MC. Needless to say things don’t go according to plan when she finds herself lusting for the rough, sexy as hell biker.

These two together is smoking hot. Mia has never been able to explore her fantasies and Shank wants to do that for her. This book involves voyeurism, f/f/m, and other very, very light bdsm - since Shank is such a helpful guy.

While their connection starts off as purely sexual, it eventually leads to more. I found this to be refreshing, this wasn't a case of insta-love, it was insta-lust - which I totally get.

I am not sure how to compare this to other MC books, because we don’t ever actually see the clubhouse or have much interaction with other bikers like most MC books do. This story revolves around two different MC’s: Shanks and the one who is suspected of the home invasion that resulted in Mia’s husband’s death. Just a heads up for someone looking for the typical MC book.

I highly recommend this one, if you are looking for a quick, sexy, suspenseful read. The story moves very quickly, and I found myself completely into the story. I will definitely read more from this series.
